WCCI YOUTH COMMEMORATION OF
International Human Rights Day
Since the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, there have been other declarations, conventions and treaties on specific human rights, including the Canadian Charter on Rights & Freedoms (e.g. right of non-discrimination ; women’s human rights; rights of the child; rights of persons with disabilities; rights of migrant workers; rights of indigenous peoples; right to organise and collective bargaining convention; rights of refugees; convention against torture; right not to be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile etc).
Youth in the WCCI community in various countries and regions were invited to give a 1 minute video recording of a statement that expresses their understanding, concern and commitment to the promotion of human rights.
The following videos were submitted by youth from India, USA and Nigeria, The USA youth are students enrolled in an undergraduate class of Professor Sr., Martha Kirk in the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.
